Alex Hostettler from Ernie Smith & Sons Roofing
Title: Service Representative
Hometown: Walnut Creek, CA
Alex is from Walnut Creek, CA. He went to college at Boise State in Idaho. At 25 he's already lived in California, Idaho, Illinois, and Virginia. Not to mention a stint in El Paso, TX and now Houston, TX!
He began working at age 16. He was a "courtesy clerk" at Safeway - a grocery bagger, essentially. He went on to work in a few restaurants bussing, food running and serving. After graduating he found his way into the auto industry as a sales person. Though he made a decent living, the stress was not something he wanted for the long haul.
September of 2017 he was living in El Paso, TX and decided that he needed a radical change if he wanted to continue growing as a person and provider for his wife and future family. He walked into the office of the dealership's owner, and told him he needed a change. Two days later he was on the road to Houston. After interviewing with a number of roofing companies he chose Ernie Smith and Sons Roofing. When asked why he chose Ernie Smith & Sons Roofing, Alex said "Ernie Smith & Sons Roofing's business and personal ethics paired with an extremely high level of integrity is exactly the type of company I want to represent. I am now Houston Central's Team Leader and love it!"
His favorite thing about his job is that every day is different. He is excited, meeting new customers, learning about them, and exploring different parts of Houston, TX. His clients know that he is on their side. He does his best to help his clients, taking the burden from them in these trying and often stressful storm-relief situations.
Alex's wife is a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army, currently deployed to Kuwait. In his spare time, he is always keeping in contact with her and sending her care packages. His life outside of work consists of working out, playing with his dogs, and renovating his new home.
